![]() ![]() In Lesson 6, we will investigate the use of equations to describe and represent the motion of objects. These equations are known as kinematic equations. There are a variety of quantities associated with the motion of objects - displacement (and distance), velocity (and speed), acceleration, and time. ![]() Knowledge of each of these quantities provides descriptive information about an object's motion. For example, if a car is known to move with a constant velocity of 22.0 m/s, North for 12.0 seconds for a northward displacement of 264 meters, then the motion of the car is fully described. And if a second car is known to accelerate from a rest position with an eastward acceleration of 3.0 m/s 2 for a time of 8.0 seconds, providing a final velocity of 24 m/s, East and an eastward displacement of 96 meters, then the motion of this car is fully described. These two statements provide a complete description of the motion of an object. However, such completeness is not always known. It is often the case that only a few parameters of an object's motion are known, while the rest are unknown. For example as you approach the stoplight, you might know that your car has a velocity of 22 m/s, East and is capable of a skidding acceleration of 8.0 m/s 2, West. The Formula 1 Exhibition is open at IFEMA Madrid and will run for several months. However you do not know the displacement that your car would experience if you were to slam on your brakes and skid to a stop and you do not know the time required to skid to a stop. ![]() I hope people enjoy experiencing it as much as we have enjoyed creating it.” Building something like this is a huge undertaking and I would like to thank everyone who has worked so hard and contributed their time to make it the incredible show it is today. To map out the history of the sport I love has been one of the biggest honors of my life. “The concept for this exhibition was first discussed in 2017, so it’s been a long – but incredible – journey. “I am so pleased this day is finally here,” says Timothy Harvey, lead curator, producer, Formula 1 Exhibition. It celebrates Formula 1’s history in such innovative and engaging ways – I know our fans around the world will love it!” I am grateful to everyone who has helped capture the heart and soul of the sport we all love in this exhibition. “I am particularly excited that our passionate Spanish fans will have the opportunity to first experience this breathtaking show. “I am delighted to be here in Madrid to officially open this spectacular exhibition,” says Stefano Domenicali, president, chief executive officer, Formula 1. Several years in the making, the exhibition combines spectacular audio-visual design, rare film and imagery, engineering and educational displays, sculptural pieces and iconic Grand Prix cars to deliver an experience for visitors – from avid followers to younger fans and families. Produced in partnership with Round Room Live, the show uses technology-led design features and large-scale interactive displays to lift the lid on the past, present and future of Formula 1. The show reaches its climax in “The Pit Wall” – a cinematic and immersive experience that allows fans to relive the greatest moments in Formula 1 history like never before.ĭrivers and Duels, Helmet wall, Formula 1 Exhibition ![]() “Revolution by Design” presents breakthrough innovations in the sport and explores the new technologies that lie ahead. “Drivers and Duels” offers a race circuit-inspired design and celebrates drivers and legendary races since Formula 1 began. The experience continues through the “Design Lab” where fans are taken inside an F1 factory to explore the modern-day design, testing and manufacturing process – with exclusive insight into the cutting-edge technology used by Pirelli, exhibition sponsor and global tire partner of the sport, and an exclusive insight into the journey of an F1 tire. Visitors start their journey passing through “Once Upon a Time In Formula 1,” with previously unseen photographs that transport fans through the sport’s most iconic and defining moments. Highlights include the remains of Romain Grosjean’s car from his dramatic 2020 crash in Bahrain in the “Survival” room, Pierre Gasly’s “Monza Miracle” maiden race-winning car from the same year and the first public display of a Scuderia Ferrari power unit.ĭelivered across six purpose-built rooms, each designed in collaboration with award-winning curators, artists and filmmakers, the show provides an adventure through the exciting world of Formula 1.
